Whole Grain Granola

Whole Grain Granola

If you are in need of a delicious granola recipe, then this is the recipe for you!  A loyal Shiloh Farms customer graciously shared her recipe with me, and now this is my go-to recipe for granola.  Quick and easy to make, the recipe works well with any one or combination of the Shiloh Farms Flakes. Be sure to use a total of 4 cups of your favorite flakes to make this recipe.  I like to use to use a hearty blend of BarleyKamutSpelt and Rolled Oats for my granola.

I love the way they look all blended together!

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 cup Shiloh Farms Barley Flakes
1 cup Shiloh Farms Kamut Flakes
1 cup Shiloh Farms Spelt Flakes
1 cup Shiloh Farms Old Fashioned Rolled Oats

1/3 cup Shiloh Farms Raw Alfalfa Honey
1/3 cup Oil of choice
1 tsp Vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Pour wet ingredients over the flakes and mix well until flakes well-coated.
  3. In a 9 x13 baking dish, bake the granola for 20 - 25 minutes golden brown. Bake for 10 minutes, then stir; bake for 10 more minutes to stir again for even baking. Remove from oven when the flakes have become a golden brown.
  4. When cooling in baking dish, continue to stir occasionally for even toasting.
  5. Store in an airtight container in a cool pantry for freshness.

Beth's Notes:

My favorite way to eat granola is as a cold cereal just using regular milk. I add a sprinkling of maple sugarcoarse wheat bran, and a new addition from our PureLiving brand, the Sprouted Brown Flax Powder.  In the summer, I like to add fresh blueberries, but have been known to rehydrate the dried blueberries as well. Actually, anything you add to this granola would only make it better!

Enjoy!
