Sprouted 5 Grain Bread Stuffing
Yields 6-8 servings


1 loaf Shiloh Farms Organic Sprouted 5 Grain Bread, cut into ½" cubes
6 Tbsp. butter
4 ribs celery, finely chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
3-4 carrots, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. fresh sage, minced (or 1 Tbsp. dried sage)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. dried thyme
3½ C. chicken or vegetable broth
Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt, to taste
ground black pepper, to taste


1. Preheat oven to 300°
2. Spread bread cubes in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet; bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until cubes have dried out, then remove from oven and allow to cool
3. Meanwhile, melt butter in a 4 quart stock pan over medium heat; add celery, onion, carrots, and ½ tsp. salt and sauté until vegetables color slightly and are just tender
4. Add garlic and herbs to vegetables and continue to cook 1 minute more; add broth and bring to simmer, then remove from heat
5. Stir dried bread crumbs into vegetable mixture until evenly moistened; taste and adjust seasoning as needed
6. Stuff poultry with mixture just before putting into oven to roast

Variation: If you would prefer to prepare this as a dressing, simply add 2 beaten eggs along with the dried bread cubes in step 5. Then transfer the mixture to a buttered 9x13 baking dish, cover with foil, and bake in a 300° oven for 15-20 minutes.
