Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup
Yields 4-6 servings

Preparing this classic soup in the slow-cooker makes it easy to have a hot, wholesome dinner any night of the week. Just mix it up in the morning (or even the night before), set the timer, and let it cook as you go about your day!

Ingredients:

1½ C. chopped onion
1 C. diced celery
1½ C. sliced carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced (or ¼ tsp. garlic powder)
1 Tbsp. olive oil
2 C. Shiloh Farms Organic Green Split Peas
1 tsp. dried marjoram
1 tsp. dried parsley
¼ tsp. black pepper
¼ tsp. Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt, or to taste
8 C. water
1 ham bone (optional)

Directions:

1. In a large pot, sauté onion, celery, carrots, and garlic in oil over medium heat until translucent, about 5-10 minutes
2. Transfer vegetables to slow cooker; add split peas and remaining ingredients and stir to combine
3. Set slow cooker to low and cook for 6-8 hours, or until peas have reached the desired softness
4. Remove ham bone (if using); adjust seasoning as needed and serve
