SHILOH FARMS Clean Processing Policy and Procedure

Shiloh Farms mission it to provide our customers with wholesome, healthy foods. To do that, we abide by FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and go to great efforts to keep our products clean and free from impurities and to prevent cross contamination of allergens. Currently, our facility produces items that may contain wheat/gluten, soy, peanuts and tree nuts, but every effort is made to protect the integrity of the products as outlined in our allergen rotation below.

We currently have four different production schedules in order to meet USDA certified organic guidelines and prevent cross-contamination of allergens. This rotation is as follows:

Thorough Clean and Sanitize: The process begins with a complete sanitization of the production area. Compressed air is used to blow off all surfaces including machines, tables and utensils. All dust and debris is captured and disposed of. Approved cleaners are used to wipe down every surface to remove residue. Fresh water is used to rinse the surfaces. Finally, all surfaces are sanitized and left to dry.

1)         Gluten Free Organic Products: Only items that are naturally gluten free and have been tested free from gluten are allowed in this rotation. These products must also be certified organic. After this product is run, a general cleanup is performed.

General Cleanup: Compressed air is used between each product run and a full visual inspection performed to make sure no residue remains.

2)         Gluten Free Non Organic Products: Only items that are naturally gluten free and have been tested free from gluten are allowed in this rotation. These items are not certified organic.

3)         Non Organic Products: No restrictions and no products are segregated by allergens such as wheat/gluten, soy, peanuts and tree nuts.

4)         Organic Products: All products are certified organic and no products are segregated by allergens such as wheat/gluten, soy, peanuts and tree nuts. A thorough cleaning and sanitation is performed after this step and the process begins again with Gluten Free Organic Products.
