Guar Gum is a non-digestible fiber derived from the guar plant, native to India and Pakistan. It has thickening powers more powerful than cornstarch.
Suggestions:
1. Used in dressings, sauces, milk products, and baking mixes.
2. It is sometimes used as a binder in gluten free baking allowing the baked goods to rise without gluten.
Recommended Uses for Authentic Foods Guar Gum:
Cake: ¼ teaspoon per 1 ½ cups of flour
Bread: 1 teaspoon per 1 cup of flour
Pizza crust: 2 teaspoons per 1 cup of flour
Salad dressing: 1/8 teaspoon per 1 cup of dressing
