To Reconstitute Apricots: Simmer in a small amount of water or fruit juice until tender. Cooking time approx 15 minutes. Or soak overnight in juice or water in your refrigerator.
Suggestions:
1. Dried apricots are often stewed alone or with other dried fruits and served for breakfast.
2. Finely dice Turkish apricots and add to cereals (hot or cold) or yogurt.
3. Boil chopped apricots and prunes in apple juice with a cinnamon stick and cloves; Turn heat off when boiling is reached and soak overnight. Pour over fresh fruit salad and garnish with chopped Shiloh Farms pecans or walnuts.
4. They make a great side dish when cooked along with roasted chicken or lamb.
5. Chop and mix with rice or bread stuffing for poultry.
6. Add to rice, bulgur pilaf, or couscous.
7. Reconstituted apricots can be pureed and spooned over cake or frozen yogurt.
8. Consider adding them diced, to winter fruit salads, trail mixes, cereals and baked goods
