The apples are thoroughly washed. Then the whole apple, including the skin, is ground up and put into a pressure cooker and cooked for 1 1/2 hours. The apples are then run through a pulper to remove seeds and stems. The apples are then placed into finishing kettles - No preservatives are used in processing. Just apples . Apple cider is added and cooked at 190 degrees to pasteurized - the apple butter is bottled hot and cooled in the jars.
