Grandma's Homestyle Split Pea Soup

2 c. SHILOH FARMS GREEN SPLIT PEAS
2 qts. water
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. diced celery
1 1/2 c. thinly sliced carrots
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. marjoram
2 tsp. parsley flakes
1 ham bone (optional)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large Dutch oven and bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat. Simmer for about 2 hours, or until peas are as tender as you prefer. This soup also cooks well in a crock-pot, cooked on low for 6 to 8 hours
